Brand New Website Design & Build
Butter was engaged by emigre.travel, the men’s travel accessory brand, to develop and build their Shopify storefront.
Platform Objectives
ÉMIGRÉ provided us with elegant designs and brand guidelines, which they wanted to bring into a digital space and thread through to the website interface. The recommendation to use the Shopify platform was to allow the company to quickly launch their website and start selling products.
Technology
We used ÉMIGRÉ's brand guidelines as the base for our frontend templating process and translated it into a smooth and seamless user experience and interface.
For this project, we made use of multiple plugins to ensure that there was flexibility built into the backend for continuous content updates and evolution.
This included customising to fit the backend logistics and business needs of ÉMIGRÉ. We made adjustments to the interface and options available to help create a clear environment for the backend users to liaise on orders and provide an easy self-running delivery process.
We also applied frontend updates to some of the plugins used to match the styling of the brand and rest of the site.
One particular plugin that stood out was Accentuate, which enabled us to make parts of the frontend editable for our client.
Challenges
It was initially challenging to make certain sections of the CMS flexible, with the limitations of the given theme. However, with the help of the Accentuate plugin, we were able to build customised fields so our client was able to make long-term content updates across the site.
Results
Ultimately, we delivered a visually aesthetic and easy-to-use Shopify site that exemplified ÉMIGRÉ's brand identity.
