Modernising through E-Commerce with a Scalable Cross-market Solution
Tai Ping Carpets is part of the Hong Kong design establishment. For over six decades, they have been creating beautiful and bespoke products for clients and businesses alike. And now they have launched their brand new E-Commerce platform, with a view to launching 3 more regional stores soon!
Platform Objectives
The goal was to provide Tai Ping with a sophisticatedly designed platform that embodies their brand so that their customers could experience the same wide range of designs, exceptional quality, and high-caliber concierge service as they would offline. It also needed to offer e-commerce flexibility to consumers for either pick-up or delivery.
Lastly, it was crucial for Tai Ping to manage their luxury products and sales on the site, with a scalable platform that would continuously serve them and their customers in Hong Kong and other regional stores.
Technology
Craft Commerce provides the great flexibility needed for both web design and development, allowing our Design team to fully customize the front-end sleek design and back-end operational configurations needed for Tai Ping. More importantly, it gave our client enough control over the logistics and operation processes and allowed them to easily use it for other regional e-stores.
To provide Tai Ping’s customers with a smooth online transaction, payments were handled using Stripe and MasterCard, Visa, American Express, JCB, Union Pay, and Alipay payments were offered.
Challenges
With Tai Ping being the leading Hong Kong carpet company with over six decades of experience in the industry, one of our challenges was to modernise the Tai Ping brand without losing its original and classic design aesthetic.
Understanding the need for other teams and markets within Tai Ping to use the same elegant designs and functionalities across different regional e-stores, a simple CMS interface with just enough customisation was created.
In addition, as Tai Ping provides their bespoke products to both customers and businesses, we had to tailor the website experiences of different audiences, such as e-commerce users, trade users, and administrators, and cater to their variety of needs.
Results
The successful digital transformation of Tai Ping’s brand resulted in a truly refined e-commerce experience that manifests the meticulously crafted products and high-end service that Tai Ping has long provided for its customers.
